This past week I had the pleasure of reading The XX Brain – The Groundbreaking Science Empowering Women to Maximize Cognitive Health and Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease written by Lisa Mosconi.
This is an excellent book filled with great information, questionnaires and diet and lifestyle changes to consider.
Currently in the cases of those diagnosed with Alzheimers 2/3 are women. Research has only recently in the past few years started to include women.
Being an advocate for our health starts with us. It is important we start to look at changes we can make today.
This begins with:
- Make different choices on how we respond to stress.
- Invest in yourself with a meditation practice
- Make sleep a priority.
- Disconnect from technology more often.
- Eat more plant based food, super foods, healthy fats and whole foods.
- Limit consumption of alcohol.
- Incorporate movement each and everyday.
The author has shared so much amazing information.
We can make changes now so less women are impacted by Alzeimers.
A great partner read is Successful Aging written by Daniel J Levitin.
I highly recommend this book.
